The College of Agriculture, Vellayani, in collaboration with NABARD, and Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia, has launched the K-AgTech LaunchPad, a pioneering Rural Business Incubation Centre aimed at fostering AgriTech innovation and entrepreneurship.
The inauguration took place on March 14, 2025, at 10:30 AM at CoA Vellayani, with distinguished guests including, Sri. P. Prasad, Pro-Chancellor, KAU, Adv. M. Vincent, MLA, Dr. B. Ashok, IAS, Hon. Vice Chancellor, KAU, Dr. Shaji K. V., Chairman, NABARD, Dist. Professor George Williams AO, Hon. Vice Chancellor & President, WSU
The K-AgTech LaunchPad is an advanced incubation center designed to support AgriTech startups, rural entrepreneurs, and farmer-led businesses. With a ₹15 crore grant, this initiative will provide structured incubation, market linkages, technology access, business acceleration, and women empowerment
This initiative will catalyze rural business development by supporting individual farmers, FPOs, self-help groups, and other agribusiness collectives, ensuring sustainable growth and competitiveness in agriculture.
The event also highlighted the importance of climate-smart innovations, value addition in agricultural products, and rural employment generation, aligning with Kerala's vision for a technology-driven agricultural ecosystem.
